Screen printing.

Even though it was meant to be a normal Monday, something interesting happened. Mr. Sefton said " we're going to be doing screen printing ". First I didn't understand what he meant then I remembered that last term we did screen printing. This is going to be fun.

Since we were doing screen printing we were focusing on a kiwi artist named Sheyne Tuffery. So for inspiration we watched a video that Sheyne made called Car Paopao, there was amazing texture and patterns in his art. It made me feel really happy.

Next it was finally our turn. So Mr. Sefton told us to cut shapes or patterns out of a large piece of paper that Mr. Sefton handed out. I decided to do a square with lines coming out, then I cut the shapes out but it ripped so I cut out another one and got a book out.

Finally I got called up to do my screen printing. I went to get my paper for the back but the only colour that was left was orange and I got really annoyed but I have to go with it. Then I put the paper under the screen and put the template over the top and put the screen over top and then I sweep the squeegee over top after I had put my paint that I had chosen on and it came out in a big pile.

When this happened the paint went all over my shirt !!! Then I get really annoyed and try and wipe it off. Next I pulled the screen over. Then I ripped the stencil off feeling rather glad. My paper had a bit of a smudge but I could probably fix it.

Next I had to scratch patterns in the paint but I poke a hole in it and I feel really nervous so I paint over it and carry on. Then the next day I do the same and then it is done and it looks good.

Moa awards

Dear Mr. Sefton,
Music Video,
For the Moa Awards we would like to do the music video. The music video would be really fun for people who love dancing, wrapping and singing because would give them a chance to do those things. We know that most boys like rapping and girls like dancing & singing. We're really good at making up dance moves because Lorin has been dancing for 5 years and Jaunte has been dancing for 5 years as we'll. so it would be fun for everyone. The people that don't like dancing, rapping and singing can watch and maybe even film. So it would be good for people who like to film to. It would also give other people a chance to do what they love for once. The song will be Katy Perry dark horse    Because it's got a lots of wrapping in it also Jaunte has a book with the words in it so she could photo copy that. We could dress up like Egyptian because in the video they did and Lorin has lots of dress up Egyptian clothes for the girls. Plus the boys can were skinny jeans and a plane top. We are going to film on the junior court. The people in the  video will be Lorin, Jaunte, Brody and Pharrell and Caleb. The back-up dancers are Lexus and Miriama. This is going to be a comedy music video. The props are two mi

From Jaunte, Lorin.

Hi mum and dad,
It's been amazing in Egypt last night I went to the Egyptian museum I saw so many  different things like traditional clothing and amazing jewellery but that wasn't nothing compared to the valley of kings I saw so much last night but the best part was going to Giza and seeing great sphinx of Giza and that was amazing and when I was standing right in front the sphinx I found an amazing little necklace sitting in the sand. Then I stayed in Giza for the night and in the morning I went to the great pyramid of Giza and tripped and fell in the Nile river. Then I left Giza and went to the Abu Symbol temple it was okay so then I went to an ancient Egyptian restaurant called pyramid bay they had the most amazing food and lovely decorations. Well my plane is leaving in a few hours and I'll call you back when I land in India. P.S I've got a few presents for you.
